How to choose the right vacuum

The first question is what needs to be picked up. For dry dust on carpet or hard floors, a compact dry canister vacuum (V08C, V12C, V16C or V-CAN-10) is enough and easier to move from room to room. If there are liquids as well – water from wet cleaning, spills, plant rooms – you need a wet/dry model (V-WD series).

The second question is how much and how often. Tank capacity and the number of motors determine how long you can work before emptying and how quickly the dirt is picked up:

ModelTypeTankMaximum power
V-WD-27wet/dry, 1 motor27 l1300 W
V-WD-62wet/dry, 2 motors62 l2600 W
V-WD-72wet/dry, 3 motors72 l3600 W
V-BP-7dry, backpack5.7 l850 W

The third question concerns air quality. In hospitals, schools or offices, HEPA filtration (standard on the V12C and V16C, optional on the V08C) captures fine particles that would otherwise be blown back into the room.

Commercial or industrial vacuum?

The vacuums in this category are commercial (professional) vacuums: single-phase, easy to carry and designed for daily cleaning. Heavy industrial applications – explosive dust (ATEX zones), oily swarf, central vacuum systems – call for dedicated equipment. Our guide to the difference between industrial and commercial vacuums explains the criteria in brief.

If you are not sure which model fits, the Tenrom team can recommend a configuration once they know your floor area, the type of soiling and your working hours.

Frequently asked questions

Can any commercial vacuum pick up water?
No. Only wet/dry models (in the Tennant range: V-WD-27, V-WD-62 and V-WD-72) are built for liquids. Dry vacuums can be damaged if they pick up water.
What does HEPA filtration mean?
A HEPA filter captures very fine particles from the vacuum's exhaust air. It is useful wherever air quality matters, for example in healthcare facilities, schools or offices.
Where can I buy consumables and parts?
Bags, filters, accessories and spare parts for Tennant vacuums are available through Tenrom. Contact the sales team for the part numbers that match your model.
