Robotic and autonomous cleaning machines

Tennant robotic machines take over repetitive cleaning routes, so staff can be assigned to other tasks. They use the BrainOS platform to navigate, avoid obstacles and people, and report cleaning results.

Two approaches

  • AMR machines (T380 AMR, T7 AMR, T16 AMR) – conventional floor scrubbers that can also work autonomously. When needed, the operator drives them manually.
  • ROVR series and X16 Sweep (X2 ROVR, X4 ROVR, X6 ROVR, X16 Sweep) – machines designed from the start for autonomous operation, some with a docking station for automatic charging.

What to assess first

  1. Floor flatness and access – robots work best on flat floors with predictable routes.
  2. Size of the areas – the X2 ROVR is designed for very small, busy spaces, the T16 AMR for very large areas.
  3. Working hours – cleaning can be scheduled outside peak hours.
  4. Who supervises – even a robot needs someone to fill and empty the tanks or check the docking station.

Tenrom can arrange a site assessment to see whether an autonomous machine is suitable.

Frequently asked questions

Does a cleaning robot completely replace staff?
No. The robot takes over repetitive scrubbing or sweeping, but someone is still needed to start the routes, handle water and waste and clean inaccessible areas.
Can an AMR machine also be used manually?
Yes. AMR machines (T380 AMR, T7 AMR, T16 AMR) can be driven by an operator like a conventional machine whenever needed.
