Tennant floor scrubber-dryers
A floor scrubber (also called a scrubber-dryer) applies cleaning solution, scrubs the floor with a brush or pad and immediately picks up the dirty water. The result is a clean, dry surface in a single pass. The Tennant range presented by Tenrom goes from 16 kg machines that replace the mop to machines weighing more than a tonne for car parks and logistics platforms.

Three families of machines
- Compact machines (i-mop Lite, i-mop XL Plus, CS16): for small areas, narrow corridors and groups of rooms. Easy to move and no complicated training needed.
- Walk-behind floor scrubbers (T191, T193, T260, T290, T291, T360, T391, T300e, T500e, T600e): the operator walks behind the machine. They cover anything from a few hundred to several thousand m² per hour.
- Ride-on floor scrubbers (T581, T681, T7, T981, T12, T16, T1581, T17, T20): for large areas, where productivity and operator comfort matter.
What to check before you choose
- Area to clean per shift – compare it with the practical productivity (not just the theoretical figure) on the data sheet.
- Aisle width and obstacles – a machine that is too wide wastes time manoeuvring.
- Type of soiling – disk brushes for maintenance cleaning, cylindrical brushes when there is also solid debris, higher brush pressure for stubborn dirt.
- Run time – the battery should last the whole shift without intermediate charging, or allow a quick battery swap.
- Water and detergent use – some models can be fitted with ec-H2O NanoClean technology, which cleans with electrically converted water, without detergent for daily maintenance.
The guide How to choose a floor scrubber explains these steps in detail.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between practical and theoretical productivity?
Theoretical productivity is the cleaning path multiplied by the maximum speed. Practical productivity allows for manoeuvring and for filling and emptying the tanks; it is the realistic figure for planning a shift.
Can a floor scrubber completely replace the mop?
On accessible areas, yes – and it leaves the floor dry straight away, which reduces the risk of slips. Corners and very narrow areas may still need manual cleaning or a compact machine.
Which machine is suitable for an underground car park?
For areas over 10,000 m², large ride-on machines such as the Tennant T17, T20 or T1581, or sweeper-scrubbers, are used. The final choice depends on gradients, the type of soiling and the permitted power source.
